The NHL hockey season has finally started. This season promises to be a great one as a lot of premium players have changed teams. Will the Penguins repeat last season's exploit? Will an underdog team surprise everybody?
Here are a few teams to watch for this season:
- Pittsburgh Penguins: Although they lost Gill and Scuderi on defense, the Penguins still have a formidable offense. Opposing teams will have to play their A game when playing Pittsburgh otherwise Crosby and Malkin will have a field day.
- Montreal Canadiens: With the addition of Hal Gill, Scott Gomez, Brian Gionta and Mike Camalleri, the Habs could be in for a very good season -- If Price's head stays in the game and the Montreal fans don't give him too much of a hard time.
- Chicago Blackhawks: The Blackhawks have increased their point totals in every season for the past three years. They have added star player Marian Hossa and defensive center John Madden to their mix, which should bring good results. If Huet plays good and Kane doesn't let last summer's off-ice issues affect him, the Hawks should be a team to watch for.
- San Jose Sharks: The Sharks always have great normal seasons, but it gets rough in the playoffs. With the addition of Dany Heatley and Rob Blake, the Sharks will once again be a force in the league.
