***MONEY MAKING PICK!!!***
The Stanley Cup champs had a hard time beating the Hawks last year, and most of Chicago's best young player were only in their first year. This year should not prove different, except the fact that Chicago's young stars are in their second year. The game is played in Chicago, the players will be pumped, the crowd will be noisy, and the old rivalry between the Hawks and the Wings is coming back to life. Chicago will win this one.
San Jose have better offense, defense and goaltending than Florida. San Jose should not have any problems winning this game.
Phoenix is back to its own self after a good start, and Washington is picking it up. Ovechkin should have a field day and the Caps will beat Phoenix.
Dallas puts a competitive team on the ice every year, and this year is no different. They should not have too much trouble beating the starless New York. DiPietro could be the difference, but not enough scoring in New York.
If it wasn't for Brodeur, this game would already be in the books in favor of the Caps. Washington has speed, talent and grit while New Jersey has goaltending and heart. Ovechkin and Semin should go through New Jersey's defense with some ease and will eventually beat Brodeur.
Crosby and Malkin should be eating up the Leafs' shaky defense. Toronto cannot match Pittsburgh's speed, both on offense and defense. The Pens will win that one.
There is something wrong when a team names its goaltender captain. Luongo is in the top three goalie in the league, but he can't score for the Canucks. Detroit had a shaky start against Toronto, but dominated the Sens and they are back on track as being the NHL's most dominating team. The Wings should win it against the Canucks.
The Chicago's offense have a lot of punch, and the defense can stand it's own with the likes of Campbell and Seabrook. Hawks should win this one at home.
Montreal home opener for their 100th anniversary. The players will be pumped, and the crowd wild. Montreal can't afford to lose this one. Boston had a hard time winning against Montreal during the last few seasons.
Boston got their act together in the second half of the season last year and should continue on playing well. Both Boston and Minnesota have the same style of playing, but Boston have more firepower.
