Daily Hydration Tracker

A one-page, one-week hydration sheet. Print it, tape it to the fridge, and tick one box for every 8 oz glass you finish across the day.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I use the daily hydration tracker?

Set a daily water target in ounces at the top of the sheet. Each row is a time of day across all seven days, and each cell holds check-boxes for 8 oz servings. Tick one box every time you finish an 8 oz glass or water-bottle portion. At the end of each day, count the ticks in that day's column to fill the daily total row and compare it with the target.

What is a reasonable daily water target to write at the top?

For most adults in a moderate climate, half your body weight in ounces is a reasonable starting target (a 180 lb adult targets about 90 oz). Add roughly 12 to 16 oz for every 30 minutes of sweaty exercise, and add 20 to 32 oz for hot weather or altitude. People with kidney, heart, or liver conditions should use a target from their physician instead.

Does coffee, tea, or soup count on the tracker?

Use the main sheet for water specifically. There is a separate 'Other fluids and conditions' section at the bottom of each day where you can note coffee, tea, sports drinks, soup, and watery fruit. This keeps the daily column a clean count of actual water servings while still reminding you that other fluids are part of total hydration.

Where should I keep the printed tracker?

Somewhere visible and routine. The fridge, a kitchen binder, a clipboard in a home office, or taped inside a cabinet door near the kitchen sink all work well. Visibility is what keeps the habit alive for the first two weeks. After that most people can estimate their intake without looking.
